The 2026 Subaru Solterra Is Coming Soon. It’s More Electric than Ever

Electric vehicle sales surged in Colorado in the last couple of months. Part of that was the window closing on federal EV tax credits, but Coloradans have caught the EV wave, and it’s only going to continue. The 2026 Subaru Solterra EV should be high on their list of possibilities.

The 2026 Subaru Solterra will be a winning EV for Coloradans when it arrives later this fall. And it’s getting better for 2026. Its range is now up to 288 on a single charge with a standard NACS (North American Charging Standard) charging port and up to 150 kW charging speed. And Subaru just announced that more than 25,000 Tesla Superchargers can now be used by Solterra drivers.

Using the SubaruConnect app’s “Plug & Charge” function automatically identifies the vehicle and starts charging. The NACS Fast-Charging Adapter, which will soon be available through Schomp Subaru, will make the process safer and more efficient. The 2026 Solterra can charge up to 80% in about 28 minutes, which works even in cold weather thanks to preconditioning.

The 2026 Subaru Solterra EV is better in other ways, too. The suspension has been improved, with more power, a bigger battery, better aerodynamics and some design tweaks on both front and rear. The increased range of 288 miles (20% more than on the outgoing Solterra) is critical for Colorado drivers who have longer distances to travel.

The Solterra EV comes in multiple trim levels, which build on one another: the Solterra Premium, the Solterra Limited  and Limited XT, and the newest Solterra EV Touring XT. All offer Eyesight® driver-assist technology and DriverFocus™ for safety, and dual front wireless charging pads for convenience. Best-in-class 8.3” of ground clearance has clear appeal to Colorado drivers, as does standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. A power rear lift gate makes easy access to groceries or gear. Inside there’s a 14-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.

Limited trim brings power-adjustable front passenger seat, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, automatic parking assist, Multi-Terrain Monitor and superb Harman Kardon® premium speaker system. Solterra EV Touring XT trim adds two motors with 338 horsepower. Add ventilation to the front seats, a radiant leg heater in front, panoramic glass roof with motorized sunshade, and available leather upholstery.

All this is to say that the 2026 Solterra EV is a great choice. A review from Yahoo! tech in early October sported the headline: “I drove the 2026 Subaru Solterra for a week – and it’s the most underrated EV around.”

We agree. See for yourself when it arrives at Schomp Subaru. We’d love to see you.
