Subaru Solterra EV SUV Goes Farther, Charges Faster and Gets a Facelift for 2026
Gas prices are rising again – have you noticed? That’s why going all-electric like the new 2026 Subaru Solterra electric SUV, coming to Schomp Subaru this fall, is worth a look. It has greater range and faster charging time than the previous Solterra. Plus, it has all the technological bells and whistles, and safety features you’ve come to expect from Subaru. It made its debut at the recent New York Auto Show.
So far, no trim levels have been revealed, although a zippier, faster powerplant is planned for the Solterra XT version. But there’s plenty known that’s making us pretty excited to see it here in Colorado, one of America’s Subie-culture hotbeds.
The 2026 Subaru Solterra has many new design details, including a new lighting signature, redesigned headlamps, front bumper and wheels. In the rear there is new nighttime lighting with a new rear badge, rear gate garnish and spoiler. The inside is bright with lots of natural light and great view.
Look Forward to:
- Range boosted by 25% to more than 285 miles optimized for better cold-weather charging.
- Charging time boosted to less than 35 minutes (10%-80%) and standard North American Charging Standard (NACS) port enabling use of Tesla supercharger network as well as Level 1 and Level 2 charging.
- Two power plant variants using front and rear motors – 233 hp as well as 338 hp in the XT, which offers a speedy zero-60 mph in less than five seconds.
Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive standard. - Off-road capable 8.3” ground clearance, plus X-MODE® Dual-Mode System featuring Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes with Grip Control and Downhill Assist Control that make off-roading a breeze (all models).

The 2026 Solterra may be eligible for some electric vehicle tax credits from the state of Colorado. Plus, the savings realized by not having to visit the gas station, and the knowledge that the 2026 Subaru Solterra is a zero-emissions vehicle that isn’t contributing to air pollution makes us feel very excited and enthusiastic to offer this stylish, rugged, great for navigating-the-best-Colorado-has-to-offer, all-electric SUV.
