The wait is over! Subaru is getting ready to deliver the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek, our popular subcompact SUV, to Schomp Subaru in Aurora.  And the great news is that Subaru’s next-generation hybrid powertrain will be offered!  The power, performance and superb efficiency of the Subaru Crosstrek comes in nine different variations and they still carry price tags ranging from about $27,000 to under $37,000. 

Consumer Reports, the venerable independent testing agency, offers the top-level overview: “It delivers an excellent ride, good fuel economy, standard all-wheel drive, and enough ground clearance for mild off-roading all in a reasonably sized and price package....the well-rounded Crosstrek is currently the highest-scoring subcompact SUV.”

All gas-only models of the Crosstrek come with a 180-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine providing 178 lb-ft of torque, continuously variable automatic transmissions, Symmetrical all-wheel drive, and the latest EyeSight® driver-assistance bundle. Emergency steering, blind-spot detection, Emergency Lane Keep Assist, and rear cross-traffic alert are available. Ground clearance is 8.7” or 9.3 inches for the Crosstrek Wilderness.

The Crosstrek Sport Hybrid and Crosstrek Limited Hybrid also use the 2.5-liter BOXER® engine, plus advanced electric motors to deliver 194 hp, up to 33% better city /24% better combined MPG, and offer the same standard AWD and safety features. 

The various 2026 Subaru Crosstrek trim levels – Base, Premium (Premium OP), Sport, Sport Hybrid, Limited, Limited Hybrid (Limited Hybrid OP) and Wilderness – build on each other to offer more and more comfort and convenience features. The Subaru Multimedia system is standard. An 11.6” infotainment touchscreen  and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard on all but Base models. A 12.3” digital display cluster and navigation come on the two hybrid variations.
